He is best known for his\u00a0Old Man’s War<\/i>\u00a0series, three novels of which have been nominated for the\u00a0Hugo Award, and for his blog\u00a0Whatever<\/i>, where he has written on a number of topics since 1998. He won the\u00a0Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer in 2008 based predominantly on that blog, which he has also used for several charity drives. His novel Redshirts<\/i>\u00a0won the 2013\u00a0Hugo Award for Best Novel. Dick Award-winning author of \u00a0The Extractionist, <\/em>and her debut novel Nucleation<\/em>. Unger made her first videogame back when the 80-column card was the new hot thing and followed that up with degrees in English\/Writing from UC Davis and Illustration from the Art Center College of Design.
